Interest rates flucuate daily, so the rate quoted to you when you apply may differ (slightly) when you decide to lock your interest rate. By locking, you protect your selected rate for a certain period of time, regardless of market flucuation. Once the rate is locked, you will recieve a lock comfimation claiming the rate & terms you have protected.
